Our pastoral team has a passion to see peoples' lives forever changed by the power of God. Our hope is to help our city and our world discover all that God has for them! We strive daily as a team to make sure we stay true to the vision of our pastor! For almost 4 decades, Pastor Gilbert has stated that his pastoral team and Truth Church must be a "lighthouse on the hill" for the lost and hurting! This has developed a culture in our church of love and compassion for the hurting.
Pastor David Gilbert has lived in Denison, Texas for over 45 years. He is married to Kay Emberlin Gilbert and has two adult children, Karisha and Darren.
Pastor Gilbert attended Texas Bible College when it was located in Houston, Texas. The college has since relocated to Lufkin, Texas. Kay spent her formative years in the Texoma area, then at age 19 she also went to Texas Bible College. The Gilberts spent 8 years evangelizing the United States. They experienced dynamic revivals, healings, signs, and wonders during that chapter of ministry.
Kay's late father, Warren Emberlin, erected the very first United Pentecostal Church building in the city of Denison in 1951 and pastored there for 28 years. On February 18, 1979 David & Kay assumed the pastorate of Truth Church in Denison, Texas.
Darren and his wife Ginger have been actively involved in ministry at Truth Church for over a decade! They have passionately served the congregation in Denison in several different capacities and they currently serve as Associate and Student Pastors.
